Simulation of Multi-Phase Flow in Autoclaves Using a Coupled CFD-DPM Approach

In this work, a numerical simulation study on the mixing characteristics of multiphase flow in an autoclave was carried out using CFD technology. The Eulerian–Eulerian model and discrete phase (DPM) were employed to investigate solid holdup, critical suspension speed, nonuniformity suspension, gas holdup distribution, bubble tracks, residence time during stirring leaching autoclave. Experiments validate accuracy model, experimental values correspond well with results. results show that solid–liquid is mainly affected by axial flow, best agitation speed 400 rpm, increasing further cannot make mixture more homogenous buildup occurred above calculated 406 which slightly lower than obtained from empirical formula. concentrated vortex area blade. When completely dispersed state (N = 300 rpm), average bubbles 5.66 s.
